About Us

Valcott Enterprises is a Pittsburgh based company formed in 2012 which plans to focus on the improvement of the quality of life for the elderly in the Greater Pittsburgh Area by the ownership and operation of personal care homes and the provision of specialized services to the elderly. Valcott is a start-up LLC owned by Barbara L. Valaw, Ronald Olenik and Scott W. Weiskircher, who also operate Valcott.

Management Profile:

Barbara L. Valaw, Chief Executive Officer Barbara is a Nursing Home Administrator licensed in Pennsylvania, as well as being a Personal Care Home Administrator in Pennsylvania. She has also been an attorney licensed in Pennsylvania since 1984. Barb has served as the Administrator, Assistant Administrator, and Executive Director for large and small personal care homes and skilled nursing facilities in Pennsylvania since 2007. She received her Masters Degree in Public Health in 2007, and combines a business background with a background in compliance, but never forgets the importance of excellence and the need to always put the resident and their families first.

Ronald Olenik, Chief Operations Officer Ron is a Licensed Practical Nurse and a Personal Care Home Administrator in Pennsylvania, and well versed in the regulations governing skilled nursing facilities and personal care homes. Ron began his career as a Medic in the United States Army, serving for six years and providing care and support to the troops of our great nation. After the military he worked as an Environmental Services Director in various long term care facilities. Working his way to an Area Manager, and Regional Director in the health care industry, Ron's management experience and clinical expertise along with a specialization in hiring and training competent, accountable staff make him the backbone of the daily operations of the company and its success.

Scott Weiskircher, Chief Financial Officer Scott served as Controller and CFO of a health system owned by a nonprofit charitable foundation, which included skilled nursing, personal care, hospice and home health services. He also served as a controller of a 139 bed acute care and psychiatric medical center. As well as his health care experience, Scott has served as manager of financial divisions in the advertising and printing industries. Scott earned his Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting from Clarion University of Pennsylvania.

UPDATES: On January 31st, Valcott took ownership of the Overbrook School from the Pittsburgh School District. The project will convert the school into a 91 bed personal care home named Overbrook Estates with an estimated opening date of Spring 2014.
